Getting started

From credentials to first request

Exact endpoints, request formats and error codes are in the client documentation. This is the general sequence.

  1. Get documentation access

Your account manager issues sign-in details for api.thedarklight.in/docs.

  2. Receive API credentials

We issue credentials for each system that will call the API. Store them server-side only.

  3. Connect to a test environment

Point your integration at a demo MT5 server or demo groups first.

  4. Subscribe to webhooks

Register the endpoints that should receive events, and verify incoming requests.

  5. Go live

Switch credentials and endpoints to production after your team signs off.

Good practice

Integration guidelines

01

Keep credentials server-side

Never place API or MT5 credentials in browser JavaScript or mobile app bundles.

02

Least privilege

Use separate credentials per system so access can be limited and revoked individually.

03

Idempotent money operations

Use your own unique references for balance operations so retries can't double-credit.

04

Handle failures

Retry transient errors with back-off and alert a person when an operation can't complete.

05

Log what you send

Keep your own request logs to reconcile with the back-office audit trail.

06

Test before production

Validate flows on demo groups before enabling them for live accounts.

Developer questions

Why is the API documentation behind a sign-in?

The reference covers operations that affect client accounts and balances, so we share it with clients and their developers rather than publicly.

How do I get access as a prospective client?

Book a demo or contact us; we can walk your developers through the API during evaluation.

Which plan includes the REST & Client API?

REST & Client API is included on the Unlimited plan. See pricing.
